The Food Protection and Defense Institute creates solutions to transition research to end-users in an approachable and accessible way.

Innovations include databases, assessments, resources, tools, and a network of collaboration portals that these innovations are able to reside on as a central location for users. Since the Food Protection and Defense Institute’s inception, we have created innovations that have been used for federal, state, and local governments, academic institutions, and industry. The FPDI Information Technology platform is managed by the Strategic Partnerships and Research Collaborative (SPARC). SPARC is a research and innovation hub within the University of Minnesota’s Office of the Vice President of Research.
